The Rules for Dealing with the Personality Disordered
« on: May 19, 2011, 02:38:21 PM »
Hi All:

I am asking for you help---when I first came here I saw a list that was entitled as above.  Rule 1 was Do Not Engage.

Now I can't remember the following rules!! (Although I've been 6 months' compliant with my NC!

I may have seen them elsewhere but I'm hoping one of you might know these and post them in response.

Thank you much!

I tried searching for you to see if anything came up but there was nothing specifically to "rules for dealing with a personality disorder".

I did have a post awhile back about strategies for dealing with a bpd:

Thank you, Gary and oneflewover for responding to my search! I did go through the toolbox and the glossary, great stuff and within them they do have the 'rules' for dealing with the personality disordered

What I was looking for was a list format I saw early in my experience, it was about 5 items, No.1 was Do Not Engage and no. 2 was basically don't give them access to your emotions/make yourself an easy target.

Maybe it will turn up as I retrace my steps learning about PDs and my Narents, ya never know.

Thanks
