OOTF Upgrades: Temporary Interruptions of Service Likely July 5-8

We are currently in the process of working behind the scenes at OOTF:

1. Migrating Out of the FOG to a new dedicated server. It is our hope that the new server will provide faster downloads with fewer interruptions in database connectivity to the internet.

2. Updating our Board Software from Simple Machines Version 1.1.13 to 2.0. This will provide better spam blocking capabilities.

The work is scheduled to begin July 5th. We will attempt to keep any board down time to a minimum but occasional short blackouts may be inevitable. Please be patient as we strive to deliver a better service. We will post the latest updates on the "Latest News" Column on front page of our website at http://outofthefog.net

The Board database has now been moved. However, some of the most recent posts - posted between 6am and 2pm Eastern time were not copied over. My apologies for that - I accidentally allowed the board to stay online while the database was being copied over. I should have taken the board offline so nobody could post any new posts during the transition.

It will be anywhere from 1-48 hours before our domain name http://www.outofthefog.net will be updated to point to our new server IP address http://184.168.108.211 This is outside of our control. You can use the numerical version http://184.168.108.211 in the meantime.

First I want to thank eclipse for getting this new server up and running. Beside $ I know it took and is taking time he doesn't have a lot of reserve of right now...So especially thanks.

 What normally happens when we get a new board is we will all find a few bugs and I expect this to be no differant. We normally let a new board kind of run along for a few days or so after it is all migrated before we ask if anyone is experiencing and troubles so hold off on reporting anything untill eclipse post a thread for bugs noticed.

I'm going to back out because I know zip about this end of things and eclipse will post items as he sees fit.....Thanks again.
